Translation of technical and medical documentation is an integral part of the process of registration of medical devices in the Russian Federation. This requirement is established by paragraph 11 of the RF Government Resolution of 27.12.2012 No. 1416 "On approval of the Rules".

Manufacturers of medical devices and importers wishing to introduce their products to the Russian market must ensure that all accompanying documentation is translated into Russian and notarized.

Translation allows regulatory authorities to assess the safety and effectiveness of a medical device before approving its use on the domestic market. Notarization confirms the authenticity of the translation and the translator's signature. Translations of technical documentation, instructions for use, certificates, registration certificates and other official documents are subject to notarization.

The success of the entire procedure depends on the quality of the translation. Technical and medical documentation requires a deep understanding of highly specialized terminology, compliance with design standards and norms. The translator must have not only linguistic skills and a rich vocabulary, but also knowledge in the field of medicine, technology, understand the context of each term in order to convey the meaning of the original text without distortion.
